Google is praising the 89th birthday celebration of famous Indian educator and researcher Udupi Ramachandra Rao today, recalled by numerous individuals as "India's Satellite Man." Professor Rao, who kicked the bucket in 2017, was an Indian space researcher and administrator of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
"Brought into the world in a far off town of Karnataka on this day in 1932, Prof Rao started his profession as an inestimable beam physicist and protege of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, a researcher broadly viewed as the dad of India's space program. Subsequent to finishing his doctorate, Prof Rao carried his abilities to the US, where he filled in as an educator and directed tests on NASA's Pioneer and Explorer space tests," the portrayal on Google Doodle's site peruses.
In a media statement by Google, Rao "focused his life's work on the emerging field of space science and technology, being one of the key people responsible for the creation of the Indian space program and ISRO, for which he was made the first chairman." In addition to Dr. Rao, Google highlighted some of his contributions and innovations that are worth a review. "He established an organization in the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay to nurture and develop the inestimable talents of students. In 1967, the institute was renamed the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), to honor the renowned scientist who was the chairman of the center."
Perhaps more notable is Rao's "humble and steadfast approach to all his endeavors" that brought him "into high esteem among his peers."
