Zomato Delivery Boy Case: FIR has been stopped against Hitesha Chandranee, Kamaraj

An FIR has been stopped against Hitesha Chandranee, the Bengaluru lady who had blamed a Zomato conveyance kid for attacking her. The case was held up dependent on the objection stopped by the conveyance chief Kamaraj who asserted she harmed herself after coincidentally hitting her face with her ring. The FIR was held up at Bengaluru's Electronic City Police headquarters under Area 355 (attack), 504 (affront), and 506 (criminal terrorizing) of the Indian Punitive Code.

According to a recent report by The Indian Express, Kamaraj did not protest Chandranee's act. In fact, he assured her that he would look into the claims. Kamaraj, an inspector at the police station, seemed to know little about the mobile. He said that he could not issue an arrest warrant until he was aware of the culprit. "I cannot issue an arrest warrant till I know what she did with the cell phone. If it was the mobile phone, the police could issue a warrant. But if it was the net phone, we cannot do anything," he added.

What Happened

The alleged attack took place on Friday night when Chandranee was returning home. She wrote on Twitter that her Zomato driver, Pradeep Kumar, had tried to abduct and assault her.
"As we were driving (towards home) I felt that someone was pressing my shoulder from behind. As we were near the KTM office, I asked Pradeep to stop the car. He tried to attack me. Luckily I put up a fight and ran out of the car. At that time I saw two other people attacking Pradeep," she wrote.
The Delhi Police too joined the hunt for the accused. "Police have been informed about the incident, and action would be taken based on the complaint filed. Further investigation into the case is on," said a senior police officer.
A complaint was filed with the Electronics City Police and a search was launched for Kumar. "The accused has been identified as Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Hebbuli. He is a chauffeur working for a leading restaurant in town. He is at large and is wanted in the case. We are conducting raids to nab him," said Sanjith, the station inspector, E-5, Empanadas.
Reports suggest that Kumar had fled to Tamil Nadu after the incident. Following the shocking incident, Zomato also suspended Kumar, who could not be reached for comment.
